Coffee Subscriptions -- The Daily Grind
Rockabilly Roasting offers a subscription service called The Daily Grind. When you subscribe, your favorite coffee is roasted fresh and shipped to you on a regular schedule. You save money on every bag, and you never have to worry about running out.
What Is a Coffee Subscription?
A subscription is a recurring coffee delivery. You pick a coffee, choose how often you want it delivered, and we handle the rest. Your coffee is roasted to order before each shipment -- it never sits on a shelf.
Key things to know:
- No commitment. You can pause, resume, or cancel anytime from your account.
- Subscribers save money. The discount depends on the delivery frequency you choose. More frequent deliveries save you more.
- Always fresh. Every bag is roasted specifically for your shipment.
Browsing Subscription Plans
Visit the Subscriptions page (labeled "The Daily Grind" on the site) to see everything available.
Delivery Schedules
At the top of the page, you will see the available delivery frequencies. Common options include:
- Weekly (every 7 days)
- Every 2 weeks (every 14 days)
- Every 3 weeks (every 21 days)
- Monthly (every 30 days)
- Every 2 months (every 60 days)
- Every 3 months (every 90 days)
Each schedule shows its discount -- for example, "SAVE 15%." The more frequently you order, the more you save.
Available Coffees
Below the delivery schedules, you will see all the coffees available for subscription. Each product card shows:
- The coffee name and an image
- The roast level (light to dark)
- Tasting notes (e.g., chocolate, caramel, citrus)
- The original price with a line through it and the discounted subscription price
- A badge showing the maximum discount available
Not every product is available as a subscription. If you do not see a coffee you like on this page, it may only be available as a one-time purchase in the main catalog.
How to Subscribe
Step 1: Choose Your Coffee
From the Subscriptions page, click on the coffee you want. This takes you to the product detail page with the subscription options already open.
You can also start from any subscribable product in the catalog. If a product supports subscriptions, you will see a "Subscribe & Save" section on its product page.
Step 2: Pick a Plan, Variant, and Quantity
On the product page, select:
- Variant -- the specific option you want (for example, a 12 oz bag or a 2 lb bag)
- Delivery frequency -- how often you want it shipped (e.g., every 14 days, every 30 days)
- Quantity -- how many bags per delivery (1 to 10)
The price updates automatically to show your discounted total. For example, if a bag normally costs $18.00 and your plan saves 10%, you will see $16.20 per bag.
Step 3: Proceed to Subscribe
After making your selections, you are taken to the Subscribe page. This page shows a summary of your plan:
- The plan name and delivery frequency
- Your quantity and total price per delivery
Step 4: Enter Payment Information
The subscribe page includes a secure payment form powered by Stripe. You will need to provide:
- Your email address
- Your name
- A shipping address
- A credit or debit card
Your card is saved securely so future deliveries can be charged automatically. Rockabilly Roasting does not store your card number -- Stripe handles all payment security.
Step 5: Confirmation
Once your payment is processed, two things happen:
- Your subscription is created. It starts immediately, and your first delivery is on its way.
- Your first order is placed. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order details.
You will also receive a separate subscription confirmation email.
Managing Your Subscription
After subscribing, you can manage everything from your account. Go to Account > Subscriptions to see all your active subscriptions.
Each subscription shows:
- The plan name and delivery frequency
- Your quantity
- The current status (Active, Paused, or Cancelled)
- Your next order date (for active subscriptions)
Pausing a Subscription
If you need a break -- maybe you are going on vacation or you have extra coffee stacked up -- you can pause your subscription.
- Go to Account > Subscriptions.
- Find the subscription you want to pause.
- Click Pause.
- Confirm by clicking Yes, pause.
While paused, no orders will be placed and no charges will occur. Your subscription will stay paused until you resume it.
Resuming a Subscription
Ready for more coffee? Resume your subscription at any time.
- Go to Account > Subscriptions.
- Find the paused subscription.
- Click Resume.
Your billing cycle restarts from the day you resume. For example, if you are on a 30-day plan and resume on March 15, your next order will be placed around April 14.
Cancelling a Subscription
You can cancel at any time with no penalty.
- Go to Account > Subscriptions.
- Find the subscription you want to cancel.
- Click Cancel.
- Confirm by clicking Yes, cancel.
After cancellation, no further orders or charges will occur. The cancellation date is recorded on your account. Cancelled subscriptions cannot be restarted -- if you change your mind later, you can set up a new subscription.
Billing and Delivery
How Billing Works
- First order: You are charged when you subscribe. This covers your first delivery.
- Recurring charges: Your card is charged automatically at the start of each new delivery cycle. The charge matches your subscription price (variant price minus your plan discount, times your quantity).
- Payment method: Your card is saved on file with Stripe during your initial subscription. Future charges are processed automatically.
How the Renewal Cycle Works
Your subscription runs on a fixed day cycle based on the plan you chose. For example:
- Every 14 Days plan: A new order is placed every 14 days.
- Every 30 Days plan: A new order is placed every 30 days.
The "Next order" date shown on your subscription page tells you exactly when your next delivery will be charged and shipped.
What Happens if a Payment Fails
If your card cannot be charged on the renewal date, your subscription is marked as Past Due. The system will retry the charge. If retries continue to fail, the subscription may be cancelled automatically. To avoid this, make sure your card on file is up to date.
Multiple Subscriptions
You can subscribe to multiple coffees. Each subscription is independent -- you can have one coffee on a 14-day schedule and another on a 30-day schedule. Each subscription renews as its own separate order, even if multiple subscriptions come due on the same day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change which coffee I receive? Product swaps are not yet available through self-service. To change your coffee, cancel your current subscription and start a new one with the coffee you prefer.
Can I change my delivery frequency? Frequency changes are not yet available through self-service. Cancel and re-subscribe with your preferred schedule.
Can I skip just one delivery? Skipping a single delivery is not yet supported. You can pause your subscription and resume it when you are ready for the next delivery.
Do I need an account to subscribe? An account is created for you automatically when you subscribe (using the email address you provide during checkout). You can sign in anytime using a magic link sent to that email. See the Account Guide for details.
Is there a minimum commitment? No. You can cancel after your very first delivery if you want.
